This study aims to analyze child protection communication patterns implemented in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), examine students' participation in reporting systems and violence prevention efforts, and explore gender dynamics in students' participation within child protection systems. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The informants consisted of caregivers, administrators, and students selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that child protection communication patterns in Islamic boarding schools are implemented through both formal and informal communication integrated into the student caregiving system. Communication occurs vertically through the organizational structure and is supported by horizontal communication among students. Students' participation in reporting systems and violence prevention activities is relatively good, particularly in socialization and educational activities. However, students' involvement in formulating child protection policies remains limited. The study also found gender dynamics in student participation, where female students tend to face barriers related to feelings of shame and concerns about social stigma, while male students are more influenced by masculinity norms and peer solidarity. In addition, the absence of a dedicated counseling room has become one of the obstacles to establishing a child-friendly reporting system. This study concludes that strengthening child protection systems in Islamic boarding schools requires the development of more open communication, increased student participation, and the provision of safe and gender-responsive reporting mechanisms
